Trip to Kuala Lumpur – KTM and Blessings Homestay Bangsar

Posted in Travelling by samlee860407 on April 21, 2010

Hm…what the fark? Travel to Kuala Lumpur also want post? No content so simply post is it?

Well, I find that this trip a bit special ma, so I post lo. In this trip, I am taking KTM instead of bus/car/plane, and I also stay at homestay instead of regular hotel, so quite different right? I also notice many people are unaware that you can actually use train to travel around Malaysia, so please don’t flame/sue/kick me , kthxbai.

Anyway, it’s been a long time since I last travel using train. Train is much much more safer than bus since there always some crazy bus driver who sped/rempit all the way at highway. However, the down point is it take ages. It takes 9 hours from Sungai Petani to Kuala Lumpur , while bus usually take 5 hours only.

Behold, KTM station of Sungai Petani. The outlook of it seems never change at all ever since I was very small. Condition? Same like Puduraya lo.

There’s a small cafeteria by the waiting area but non of my business, since I already went to KFC and I is gonna enjoice my dinner in the train later.

Seats are limited here. Besides, there are many non-passengers here too. Most of them are just waiting for their family members to depart, while others are waiting for arrival. Best thing is, 1 person take train, 10 people come…sigh, I wonder why.

Well, I will depart at Sungai Petani station (no.6 from the bottom), and my destination is Sentral KL (no.6 from the top). Count  yourself guys, the train gonna stop for so many station man!

Our train was delayed by an hour. Initially it should arrive at 7.52 PM, but it only came at 9.00 PM. Best thing is, if the train was on time, then it’s still not raining, but since it delayed, the rain was pouring and all of us were wet.

There are many class you can choose, from economy class, 2nd class superior, 1st class premier , premier night standard, premier night superior and premier night deluxe. For the 3 class that are cheaper, it’s only normal seat, while for the expansive one come with bed.

We opt for the premier night superior, and it’s RM90 for 2 person. Although the bottom bed is a bit more expansive (around RM 3) than the top bed, but most people still opt for it since it’s much much more comfortable. The top bed is just too shaky when the train is moving.

The bed is quite ok la, don’t expect super comfortable, but it’s good enough for me. Since I was too tired that day, I slept until the train almost reach our destination – KL Sentral. Initially I wanted to visit the canteen, but it’s just too far away from our cabin, so well, I just say forget it when we walked halfway.

Since I am not driving this time, and I got some stuff to do at Bangsar, and well, it seems that there ain’t any hotel which is in walking distance from Bangsar Shopping Complex, I decided to stay in Blessings Homestay. 1 of the reason I decided to stay here is because I only need to pay extra RM10 if I were to check in at 6am, while Cititel Mid Valley is going to charge me 1 extra night! Crazy. I am absolutely impressed with the garden of Blessings Homestay, as it’s really beautiful for a house.

The inside of the house is beautiful too.

More rooms up stairs.

Our room. Sorry for the mess, as I straight went to bed when I reach since I was too tired. 6 AM nia leh when we reach!

KL Trip (KTM & Blessings Homestay)-12

Okay, no wall, just curtain……what’s on the other side?

KL Trip (KTM & Blessings Homestay)-13

GOSH! Another room! No privacy liao leh…how to do the choo choo train then?? Shitz….luckily no body staying there when we are there. So the train goes on….chooo chooo…. chooo chooo….

KL Trip (KTM & Blessings Homestay)-14

Well, they are certainly generous with pillows aren’t they? Can pillow fight liao….YESH!

The small bathroom with cute cute cartoon on it.

Overall, I only pay RM140 for the room. To me it’s quite worth it, only because I can check in at 6 AM in the morning. Other than that, I am not particularly pleased with it mainly due to 2 thing. The first is the curtain instead of solid wall, while 2nd is they did not give you any key upon check in. So well, basically you can’t lock the door when you went out. Besides, they do will go in the room when you are out, what they are doing inside I don’t know, but I did not notice any of my stuff was lost, so it’s ok, but still…sigh.

Anyway, this might be due to I never stay in homestay before, maybe this is how things works? Somebody willing to enlightened me?

The existing SP railway station will be demolished as part of the modernised Double Track Railway system when completed by 2013. A brand new modern station will be built to replace this unique building.
A lot of history and fond memories that this old station bears will go with its demise.
A bit sad, but that is how life is, I guess.
